New York City is buzzing right now with fashion happening on every corner. Fashion week brings a plethora of inspiration not only for fashion but for hair and makeup as well. In this weeks journal we are sharing A Backstage Glimpse at NYFW Spring 2019 and showcasing some of our favorites so far from this seasons most talked about extravaganza. Scroll through and enjoy some of these awe inspiring hairstyles that made the runway.
To begin this journey of A Backstage Glimpse at NYFW Spring 2019, we have to start with Rodarte’s Runway show. The show was absolutely stunning with its Marie Antoinette vibe, and no detail was left unsaid. Hairstylist Odile Gilbert put lots of thought into the hair and perfectly placed flowers, giving the hair a very soft and angelic feel. Take a peek at some more images from the show.
Sometimes its not about how extravagant you can make the hair. There is definitely a place for less is more, and we loved the vibe at Tom Ford. With a reference to the1920’s, hair was side parted and slicked into a low chignon. To complete the look, chiffon scarfs were placed on the hair for a Jackie O feel.
Anna Sui never skimps when it comes to the details and this show lived up to that. We instantly fell in love with the modern rockabilly vibe of the hair, created by Garren (@garrennewyork).
Opening Ceremony definitely didn’t disappoint with their celebration of drag and LGBTQ life in this collaboration with Ru Paul’s Drag Race winner Sasha Velour. The show designed by creatives Humberto Leon and Carol Lim was a star studded event. Expect the unexpected in this cabaret style show and enjoy the creativity that showed in the hair.
In this 50th anniversary celebration show in Central Park, we saw a variety of style in regards to the hair. We always love a 70’s style haircut that was shown in the image below and also the dramatic effects of the short natural textured hair in the second image. We enjoyed that rather than it being a “theme” with the hair, it was more of a celebration of texture instead.
We enjoyed the hair in this show, created by Shingo. The side buns, placed eloquently next to extra long, silky smooth length made for the perfect juxtaposition in the hair. That high shine and super silky length reminds us of the results you get from using our Iles Formula Finishing Serum. Loads of shine and hair that looks and feels just like spun silk.
And last on our favorites and certainly not the least, these soft pastel egg shaped chignons and expressive tails by Guido were the cherry on the cake at yesterday’s Marc Jacobs show.
And “That’s A Wrap”…These were some of our favorite looks thus far. We hope you enjoyed A Backstage Glimpse at NYFW Spring 2019 as much as we did. Let us know which ones are your favorites in the comments below. We look forward to hearing your thoughts.
