Ok, let’s first start by saying, there are several different variations of the wet hair trend. Some more avant garde and others more wearable reality. However, we wanted to include a bit of both here.
Soft & Flexible
First up, for How To Get The Wet Hair Look That Is Trending This Season, is keeping it more soft and flexible. What do we mean by this? Think about the hair looking like you curled it, but that it is wet looking. Still very moveable and flexible and definitely not stiff. So how do we get this hair?
Simple, add Iles Formula finishing serum and then add waves to your hair, just as you would using a 1 inch tong, wrapping the hair around the iron. Be sure to leave out the ends. Once you have finished, use more of our Iles Formula Finishing Serum to add dimension and wetness to the hair. If you find that you prefer more of a wet look, you can also use a clear pomade. This actually helps quite a bit for giving the hair that wet/greasy on trend vibe. Remember Iles Formula finishing serum protects hair from heated tools and humidity so use it on the hair before after use of heated tools.

What if your hair is shorter, no worries, this works for you too. Following the same technique, create the wet hair look using our Iles Formula Finishing Serum especially for hair protection from heat of tools and/or extra wetness afterwards with a Clear Pomade.
Slick & Sculpted
Ok, so what if you want to go for a more sculpted version of the Wet Hair Look? We say go for it!

We love the combination here of the wet and sculpted looking deep side part, paired with a soft and flexible bottom. Create the bottom using the same method as listed above. For the top, create the deep side part, while the hair is still very wet. To Sculpt the hair, use a strong holding gel on the top sections only and comb it into place. Allow the hair to dry in place to create this statement style.
Our Founder Wendy Iles created this version of the wet look on Rita Ora last year for a British Elle cover, and we are still in love with it!
In fact as Rita’s hair is a bleached blonde, Wendy began by drying her hair first with Iles Formula Finishing Serum to get a wholesome texture in the bleached hair. Next, she worked backwards adding a mixture of 3/4 Iles finishing serum and a 1/4 water in a spray bottle spraying around hair line and combing the mixture through… This method kept volume and maintained the integrity of the hair. This is an excellent trick to try if your ends are bleached or very thin.
Here are a few more versions for your inspiration.
The Wet Updo
Are you still wondering yourself how to get the best Wet Hair Look? It can also be incorporated into an updo as well. We love this variation.

To recreate this style, first determine what type of finish you want to have. Soft and more flexible, or more wet and sculpted looking. We love it just how it is in the image, more wet looking. Start out with very damp hair. Apply Iles Formula Finishing Serum throughout the hair. Next, create a French twist into the hair and secure with pins. We can’t stop staring at this variation. While it looks as though it was just thrown up wet, we also see a very fashion forward approach to this style.
