IF. Tell us what you think is the biggest challenge in hairdressing today?
Motivating young stylists to do what it truly takes to achieve greatness.
IF. What’s the most enjoyable part of your job?
Watching young stylists succeed and helping guests look and feel their best.
IF. Why did you choose the path of hairdressing and was it easy to fall into this work?
My Uncle was a very successful stylist and salon owner and I always looked up to him. As a child, I was always drawn to all things creative and so hairdressing was a perfect fit.
IF. If you had not made the decision to be a hairdresser what would you have been?
A starving musician.
IF. What is your greatest strength?
Recognizing how to make people look their best.
IF. Your favorite hairdressing tools?
My razor and my texturizing sheers.
IF. Tell us about your relationship with Iles Formula. How you discovered us and which formula is your favorite?
We’ve been selling Iles for about a year, I found out about it when Wendy Iles visited our salon with our local rep, she left me some samples and I fell in love with the product. My favorite formulas are the serums.
IF. What was the most challenging job you ever made?
When I had to design my salon.
IF. What was your worst hair moment and why…. privately or on set/stage or in the salon?
When I told my colleague to use an “inch” of blue intensifier in a blonde formula and she used an inch of the tube. She ended up with “Smurf-blue” hair.
IF. If you could style anyone’s hair, who would it be and why?
Charlize Theron-she’s not only beautiful but she is talented and has a very interesting life story.
IF. Where do you pull hair inspiration from?
W magazine, Call me “old fashioned”, but I still enjoy looking at fashion magazines.
