IF: Tell us what you think is the biggest challenge in hairdressing today?

The biggest challenge in hair styling these days is to attract and retain clientele through social media. Social media is now the biggest way to be known by clients.

IF: What’s the most enjoyable part of your job?

The most enjoyable part of my job is seeing my client’s face when they love their hair. After all, we do this job to bring out the beauty of the person sitting in our chair.

IF: Why did you choose the path of hairdressing and was it easy to fall into this work?

I came to love hairdressing overtime. My great grandmother was a tailor. My mother taught me how to sew. My grandpa was a baker. I always loved working with my hands. Then I started to get creative with how I wore my hair, and that’s when my passion for hair started to grow.
There have definitely been ups and downs in my career. The beginning was very rough. It was hard, but that makes you stronger and determined. You can’t have thin skin in our world.

IF: If you had not made the decision to be a hairdresser what would you have been?

I was studying marketing and accounting before I became a hairdresser. I was always interested in learning how to manage a business.

IF: What is your greatest strength?

My biggest strength is Balayage; it’s natural and glamorous.

IF: Your favorite hairdressing tools?

My favorite tools to use are the Dyson blow dryer, a 1.5-inch curling iron, a framar paintbrush, and my Tony and Guy shears that I’ve had since I started hairdressing.

IF: Tell us about your relationship with Iles Formula. How you discovered us and which formula is your favorite?

I discovered ILES less than a year ago when I started carriage the brand. I like that it is unique, simple and efficient. The shampoo and conditioner are wonderful. I mostly use these on my clients. But the one I use on myself is definitely the finishing serum.

IF. What was the most challenging job you ever made?

The most challenging job I ever had was when I chopped Pamela Anderson’s hair into a pixie cut.

IF: What was your worst hair moment and why…. privately or on set/stage or in the salon?

My worst moment was when I left a commercial set because the clients didn’t understand the shooting process and were very disrespectful to the team. I felt bad for the photographer.

IF: If you could style anyone’s hair, who would it be and why?

Post Malone.
Justin Bieber.

IF: Where do you pull hair inspiration from?

I pull my inspiration from growing up in France. People watching. Victoria’s Secret show has been inspiring for a big part.
Natural Glamorous.

IF: Your advice to young hairdressers starting out?

My advice for young hairdressers is to be strong, driven, curious and determined. Assist somebody that can share their knowledge with you. There are no shortcuts in the hair industry. You have to learn the basics first. You have to build the wall before the roof.
