Sonia Bellini is the founder of Bellini’s Spa and has been a business owner for 27 years. She is an avid learner and seeker of truth. She is naturally inclined to a marriage of aesthetic beauty and the science of how things work. Her mission is to get people the right products that work for them and she hates to see people buy random products that do not work or follow marketing trends that result in people wasting their money.
Each person has their own unique beauty. This idea of personalization is the foundation of Sonia’s business. She aims to enhance unique beauty that elevates people rather than perpetuate unattainable beauty standards that bring people down. Sonia encourages every individual to be the subject of his or her own desires, rather than for beauty to make people the object of desire.
Bellini’s Spa was born out of Sonia’s desire to help others connect with their own unique beauty. Everything Bellini’s Spa carries works for any person who walks through their doors. This is what they are good at – having the knowledge to understand the needs of each individual and finding solutions that really work.

IF: What is the most inspiring thing you’ve learned at your job?
To continue learning and growing professionally and personally. I’ve learned to be more flexible, curious and a better listener.
IF: Your favorite destination?
My favorite destination is a tropical beach and almost anywhere in Europe.
IF: Best fashion inspiration decade?
I love the fashion inspiration of the 40’s and 70’s. I like the post-hippy era of the 70’s and the beautiful matching structured looks of the 40’s. In the 40’s, you had proper outfits for specific occasions. It was all very put together and particular.
IF: If you were to treat yourself what would it be?
I want to treat myself to a Thalassotherapy Spa vacation in San Malo, France. I would also hang out at a Japanese-French fusion restaurant.
IF: Your ultimate dinner party guests?
I would love to have a dinner party with Brene Brown and Michelle Obama because they both have a lot of humility and so much passion for inspiring others to be better.
IF: What is your relationship with your hair?
My relationship with my hair has changed over the years. Initially, I tried to make my hair be something other than what it was. Now I love it. I can do so much with it, especially when I have the right products.
IF: How did you hear about Iles Formula?
I heard about Iles Formula from Ali. I tried it and loved it, then I gave it to all my staff and everyone came back saying it was one of the best hair products they have ever tried.
IF: Do you read directions for use?
Reading directions for use of products comes quite naturally for me. I am the daughter of Giuseppe Bellini from Emilia-Romagna, Italy. A passionate foodie region, however which region isn’t? As a small child, I would watch every step when my dad was cooking. This is where I learnt about the nuance that goes into any process. The perfect Bolognese to a well-dressed salad.
IF: Do you read the composition of a product?
I definitely read the composition of products. My mother was into very natural approaches and, at that time, it was quite ahead of her time. She also had a very science-based brain as well so she was always analyzing and researching. She could tell me the components of everything that I ate and what it would do for me.
IF: Your favorite Iles Formula product?
IF: Your favorite shower dance?
In the shower, I focus on my skin care and haircare routine because dancing in the shower would be too dangerous – I could slip and fall!
IF: What makes you the most happy?
Nature, friends, sunshine, swimming, cooking and dancing make me so happy! I especially enjoy all of the beautiful nature in the Pacific Northwest and love hiking, learning to surf, and paddle boarding.
IF: If you were to share one beauty tip with us today, what would it be?
The one beauty tip that I would share as an esthetician is to wash your face properly. Many people do not get their skin cleansed well enough and it causes breakouts, dullness and you won’t get the most efficacy from the products you are using.
IF: What is being a woman like in 2020?
As women, we can now be the subject of our desires by having individual autonomy, which helps us feel like we have more control over our lives. When I was growing up, women could not have checking accounts till the 70’s. We have come a long way since then. To be able to apply for loans and financing to buy a home or open a business is amazing. My mother was a frustrated stenographer/executive assistant and encouraged me to work for myself. She would say, “work for yourself and make yourself, not someone else, look good.”
