London Fashion Week SS17 Goes For An Undone Vibe

London Fashion Week has just concluded, and we are loving the 80’s hair vibe that stood out this season.  Spring/Summer 2017 is all about curly and wavy textures that are a bit more undone.  We’re taking you behind the scenes at London Fashion Week to show you some of these undone styles and sharing pro tips for how to transform them into a more wearable version.

Marc Jacobs | London Fashion Week

While many shows had an 80’s vibe, Marc Jacobs was the talk of the town with pastel dreadlocks.  Its no surprise that the Marc Jacobs show was such a big hit.  Every season you are sure to be wowed and this season was no different.  Marc’s inspiration for the hair was from the club and rave culture.  As a result, Hairstylist Guido Palau delivered with these cotton candy hued dreads.  Not your everyday hair style, but cool and fun to look at nonetheless, and definitely created a most noteworthy buzz about London.

Julien McDonald | London Fashion Week

Next, was this 80’s inspired hair created by Sam McNight for Julien McDonald.  Sam explained it as, “Sexy Damp Bed Hair”, and we love everything about it.  If you already have a curly texture, then you are off to a great start.  If you have straighter hair, don’t sweat it, you can create the curls in your hair using a 1 inch or smaller iron and alternating the direction of the curls.  After the hair is curled, use our Iles Formula Finishing Serum to give the hair that damp effect and soften the curls a bit.  We found this hair to be most noteworthy because it has a new and fresh feel.  Here you can see more of this style on different hair textures.

TopShop Unique | London Fashion Week

Meanwhile, Topshop Unique came with their own trend.  We are loving the consistent 80’s vibe that was spread throughout London Fashion Week.  Lead Hairstylist Duffy calls the inspiration “80’s New Wave Glam”, and we think it is especially relevant.  In addition to the deep side part, there is loads of volume.  A little bit of Iles Formula Finishing Serum and a couple of braids before bed will give you the texture you need.   It gives us the feeling of a grown out perm circa 1987.

If you were around in the 80’s, this is a hairstyle you probably never though you would revisit, however its back, with a fresh new twist.  Embrace this updated trend, as its an easy out the door switch to the full blowouts you have been struggling through for the last few years.  Plus, its the trend for Spring and Summer, so it will be a refreshing change.

Emilia Wickstead | London Fashion Week

Another hair favorite of ours is the braided texture created by Hairstylist Luke Hersheson for Emilia Wickstead.  Its a simple style with a big impact.  Two french braids, braided halfway down and then a beachy texture in the bottom is what makes this a fave for us.  Can be worn on or off the runway, dressed up or down.  What do you think?

Preen | London Fashion Week

Yet another show that delivered an undone style to the hair, was Preen.  We love the matte finish and especially love how the hair was plaited into small braids and wound with leather binding.  How can you make this everyday wearable?  Start out with a matte finish, undone texture.  Then, create two low loose braids on each side of your head.  Finally, pin them up in the back.  This style can be worn dressed up or down.

House Of Holland | London Fashion Week

Another show where the hair was a hit was House Of Holland.  Specifically the blunt baby bangs with a soft texture created by Hairstylist Cos Sakkas.  Bangs made a big statement this season at London Fashion Week and we can see why.  Its a super cool way to add pop to any hairstyle.  Have you been thinking of trying bangs?  Pin this image to your pinterest and share it with your hairstylist at your next salon visit.

Molly Goddard | London Fashion Week

Finally, we loved these segmented front ponytails at Molly Goddard’s SS17 Collection.  Maybe not your everyday wearable hairstyle, but you can create a variation of this look by wearing a high ponytail in the back and adding the puffy segments for a fun twist to your everyday pony.  By switch the placement the look instantly becomes everyday wearable.london-fashion-week-iles-formula
