New Years Eve Hairstyles

For most of us, the biggest event of the holiday season is the New Year’s Eve party. Whether you’re attending a fancy dinner in the city, or going to a friend’s house for wine and festivities, you want to make sure your outfit pops with the right amount of holiday cheer. Perhaps the most important factor to top off your look is choosing the right hairstyle. Follow these easy tips to make sure your New Year’s look is a smash:

There are many options to choose from when deciding on a look for the big New Year’s party. I never use hairspray; I prefer to concentrate on well-conditioned hair to have it feeling soft and silky instead of stiff with spray. Skip the salon and spend your time people watching by using these easy-to-follow styling tips!

Start with a sulphate free shampoo. If you have not yet tried sulphate free, then do, your hair will love you for it, but do rinse well otherwise these can make your hair a bit heavy.

Condition your hair. This is the key to gorgeous hair. My preferred choice without doubt is Iles Formula Conditioner. This works for all ages and all hair types. It works in a miraculous way by transforming your hair instantly to a spun silk texture. Guaranteed with every use. Be sure to comb it through for even distribution to get the best results. It works instantly on contact with your hair, so you don’t need to let it sit.

The last preparation step is the Finishing Serum. This is your hair’s protector from cold in winter and from humidity, UV rays and color fade in summer. It’s also your protection against heated tools when drying the hair.

Apply a small amount of this finishing serum to mid lengths and ends before blow drying. Don’t worry it won’t weigh the hair down. Once the hair is finished apply a small amount over the hair surface to keep your style looking perfect no matter what weather conditions you are facing.

Allow your styles to breath, no hairspray girls.

Here are 2 simple braided ideas for long and short hair.

For long hair, simply start plaiting your hair loosely from the crown and continue down collecting peices from the sides as you go. Finish by placing a small elastic band on the end of the plait at the bottom, so the braid stays in place and roll this under into the nape of your neck and secure with strong bobby pins.

For short hair, pick an area you would like to add a plait. One side works well on medium length hair by adding a little asymetric equation to the look. With the front section has been simply rolled and pinned. The under section has been braided and secured with a small invisible band and pinned. The best elastics to use here are those used on teeth braces since the braid is so small.

The beauty of Doutzen’s  style below is the “easiness” of it. It is simply achieved by attaching it into a tail using your fingers like a comb instead of a brush. Once it’s attached just pull the sections slightly to add textured meshes.

Use a gold cuff on tails or just use a ribbon.

These are jeweled headbands from Dolce and Gabbana several seasons ago. There’s no reason you can not make your own. Use flea market jewelry or from Grandmother’s jewlery box sewn on to a velvet ribbon or existing headband, or just use a brooch pinned into the hair.

Alternatively, just wear your hair down and beautifully groomed with Iles Formula’s signature spun silk hair finish. If you dry the base well, the style will last perfectly without hairspray. Try it, my “no hairspray” trick will revolutionize how you think about hair.
