Comme Des Garcons
The first Avant Garde Hair Highlights From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2018 was for Comme Des Garcons. We love these head pieces and were super inspired by the larger than life impression they gave. Like beautiful sculptures laced with chinese toys, its unmistakably the work of Julien D’ys and his atelier extraordinaire.
The next show that inspired us with the hair, was the Under Cover show. We love the vintage vibe that was created. Using the liberty rolls technique to create this vintage inspired style definitely made a statement on the runway.
Our Iles Formula Finishing Serum is the perfect product for creating this style. Begin by blow drying our serum into each section of the hair , this will provide the foundation needed, as well as bring out the beautiful supple luster in the hair. In addition, it will allow the rolls to remain workable if needed throughout the day.
Another show worth talking about when it came to the hair was John Galliano. Also created with a vintage vibe in mind, the hair for this show seemed so fresh and cool. It made us want to channel our inner Elvis. Which of these looks were your favorites?

Swaying a bit more into the Avant Garde realm was the Junya Watanabe show. Using metal wire to create spikes and twists, the hair at this show seemed to nod a bit more towards a punk rock feel. We especially love the way they utilized the wire to create and build the different shapes. Other articles to use for this effect are pipe cleaners and chop sticks.
Our hearts melted when we saw the hair from the Maison Margiela show. What a great twist on hair they created here. Inspiring to say the least. We loved the use of soft plumes to mimic hair. These feathers moved with such grace, creating such a poetic gesture on the catwalk. Bravo Eugene Souleiman .
Though not quite as Avant Garde as some of the previous, we still wanted to mention the hair at the Alexander McQueen show. A revised wet look, paired with the two frontal pieces left down to accent the face. This look never gets old and always makes a statement, as fresh today as it looked 10 years ago when first introduced to the McQueen show. Hairstylist Guido Palau does it again.

Another hair look to celebrate was at the Miu Miu show. Again, not super Avant Garde but an interesting take on vintage trend, so we felt compelled to share. The black headband that first made its shine in the 60’s and yet again in the 90’s is here once again. Most women own or have owned one of these thick black headbands so its time to revive it. We also love the small bouffant that was created in the back of the hair to really bring us back to the 60’s. Lets not forget to mention that the makeup was also a perfect compliment to the hair.
Chanel never disappoints and this year was no different. We love the hair accessorized by the see-through rain coat style hats and hoods. A perfect pair with the bold makeup. Sam Mcknight does it again with the hair for Chanel.

Dior is our final look that we wanted to share with you. Not necessarily Avant Garde but still very beautiful. So beautiful that we just couldn’t leave it out. There is something very French about this look. Maybe it was the beret, or the natural waved bob but nonetheless we just had to include it in this post. Great hair as always from Guido Palau.
These are all of our Avant Garde Hair Highlights From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2018. Which of the above looks are your favorites? We love to hear your thoughts so leave us a note in the comments below.
