I can remember from my school years – before straightening irons became famous – laying my long locks on the ironing board and having my best friend press them straight for me. This Irving Penn’s photo from 1964 shows the process perfectly. I never forget that magic sensation of having my curly hair looking longer and so silky straight.
Today we don’t need to follow that old technique. I have two straightening irons I can recommend you: Harry Josh with his legendary green blades and GHD with their yellow blades. Both blades are small and ionic which helps stop electricity in the hair and diminish excessive volume. I have both machines in my professional kit and they always deliver the performance I need.
