IF: Tell us what you think is the biggest challenge in hairdressing today?
TP: The biggest challenge is creating your own unique style, and owning that original signature look.
IF: What’s the most enjoyable part of your job?
TP: The most enjoyable part of the job is servicing my clients, seeing the hair transformations, and making them happy.
IF: Why did you choose the path of hairdressing and was it easy to fall into this work?
TP: I was suppose to be in the hospitality industry, but I really had no interest. I didn’t know what else to do… I do know I love beauty and fashion, so I decided to become a hair stylist and colorist.
IF: If you had not made the decision to be a hairdresser what would you have been?
TP: Probably a Fashion Stylist or a Chef.
IF: What is your greatest strength?
TP: I can’t say NO as an answer.
IF: Your favorite hairdressing tools?
TP: Janeke brushes hand made from Italy.
IF: Tell us about your relationship with Iles Formula. How you discovered us and which formula is your favorite?
TP: I discovered Iles Formula through a good friend of mine from Paris… She wouldn’t stop talking about it. I tried the products, and decided I had to have it at Lac+Co.
IF: What was the most challenging job you ever made?
TP: I had a house call in Paris with a client who was 9 months pregnant. I did highlights, and had to take out all the foils and wash her hair in the kitchen sink. But she couldn’t bend over because she was so pregnant! It was very challenging.
IF: What was your worst hair moment and why….Privately or on set/stage or in the salon?
TP: Can’t think of any…
IF: If you could style anyones hair, who would it be and why?
TP: Beyonce, I would love to do her hair for a red carpet event.
IF: Where do you pull hair inspiration from?
TP: Everyone and everywhere… From fashion shows, to movies.
IF: Your advice to young hairdressers starting out?
TP: You need to work harder than everyone else, keep doing what you love, and don’t ever give up.
IF: Thank you Tony.
