Patti Smith
Thinking of Patti Smith and how much her cool haircuts from the 70's often inspire my editorial work today. I recently fell across this interview that I really liked. She is speaking to a group of people about life today. Nice honest words. Enjoy !
Patti Smith was in Paris last week to inaugurate the photography exhibition on Robert Mapplethorpe at Le Grand Palais. She was the lover and muse of Mapplethorpe who died of AIDS in 1989. "Robert and I were like the brother and sister of Cocteau's "Les Enfants Terrible "she said. With guitar in hand , rather than speak she preferred to sing a song she had written for the occasion "Wild Leaves".
The exhibition of Mapplethporpe runs until end of July 2014.
