IF: Tell us what you think is the biggest challenge in hairdressing today (before and after COVID-19)?

Safety and sustainability. We are creating so much waste, this is a real challenge to reduce waste in some salon activities to make sure there is some balance. There were environmental issues in our industry before but now it is our personal responsibility to be fully conscious.

IF: What’s the most enjoyable part of your job?

The people, the ability to change the way someone feels about themselves whilst thoroughly enjoying their company!

IF: Why did you choose the path of hairdressing?

I was attracted by fashion and beauty. I’ve always been fascinated by beautiful people and still am today !

IF: If you had not made the decision to be a hairdresser what would you have been?

A lawyer. I studied law and then after all the hard work ended up hating it! Be careful what you wish for! I went back to hairdressing.

IF: What is your greatest strength?

My positivity.

IF: Your favourite hairdressing tools?

My razor.

IF: Tell us about your relationship with Iles Formula. How did you discover us and which formula is your favourite?

I discovered Iles Formula via a friend who introduced me to the Finishing Serum for hair extensions. At that time, I was working on TV in America and doing extensions all day every day, so I needed a light product that made the extensions look fresh, airy and light. I have to say the combination of the Serum and my razor worked like a charm.

IF: What was the most challenging job you ever had ?

Working with Royalty.

IF: What was your worst hair moment and why…. privately or on set/stage or in the salon?

A shoot for black hair where the models were all competition winners from Instagram. I will leave it at that!

IF:  If you could style anyone’s hair, who would it be and why?

Elle McPherson simply because it’s my type of hair and I know I could do it well and Rachel Zoe because I think her blonde is too warm!

 Where do you pull hair inspiration from?

From everywhere and currently the 60’s and 70’s.

IF:  Your advice to young hairdressers starting out?

Be patient, it takes time. It’s a constant evolving journey and forget about trying to be famous, be happy being the one behind the chair not wanting to be the one in the chair!
