Iles Formula Women : Miguelina Gambaccini

This week, Iles Formula Women introduces you to Miguelina Gambaccini, Founder and Designer of MIGUELINA (www.miguelina.com), the luxury resortwear brand that she launched in 1998. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Miguelina is now based in NYC from where in the nearly 20 years since, Miguelina’s signature white lace dresses, kaftans and jumpsuits have become synonymous with effortless jet set glamour and firmly established themselves as a perennial favourite amongst the fashion elite, as seen on everyone from Kate Hudson and Angelina Jolie to Lupita Nyongo and Miranda Kerr to name a few.

IF : Relationship with your hair?
MG : After so many years of worrying about my hair, messing it up during straightening treatments, I can finally say it's a good relationship, when I decided to embrace and enjoy the beauty of a voluminous curly coiffure.

IF : Best Hair Inspiration decade?
MG : 70’s Glamour.

IF : How did you hear about Iles Formula?
MG : Through one of my dearest friends, Martine Montgomery.

IF : What is the most inspiring thing you've learned at your job?
MG : To understand the Miguelina girls, who they are and what they want. See them bring life to our pieces and take them along during their summer time adventures.

IF : Do you read direction for use?
MG : Of course I do, my hair is not something I gamble with.

IF : Do you read the composition of a product?
MG : Yes I do, I like to know what ingredients are put into the products I use.

IF : Your favourite Iles Formula product?
MG : The Haute Performance Finishing Serum – the screen against UV rays and humidity are perfect traits for my beach days, and the white flower scent is lovely.

IF : Your favourite shower dance?
MG : My Tulum playlist, it brings me back to the beach.

IF : What makes you the most happy?
MG : What I call the ‘magic hour’; double Rainbows, palm trees, sunsets and of course the beach.

IF : If you were to share one beauty tip with us today, what would it be?
MG : Moisturizing curly hair is vital.

IF : Being a woman in 2016?
MG : Empowering.

IF : If you didn’t do the job you do now, what do you think you would be doing?
MG : Photography has always been one of my greatest passions, I would probably be behind the lens at all times.

IF : Which celebrities do you think are wearing great hair at the moment and why?
MG : Solange Knowles, she is always rocking a gorgeous hairstyle, so relevant.
