How to Create a Head Spa Ritual at Home

Head spa videos across social media have brought scalp care into the spotlight. The flowing water and massage look wonderful, but a healthy scalp also depends on the routine you follow at home. Here is the sequence I use to give the scalp a thoughtful reset from home.

1. Exfoliate Where Buildup Collects

Oil, dead skin and styling product can gather at the roots. This is especially important for people who wear extensions, because buildup can be missed between the tracks. Our Scalp + Body Exfoliant uses macro rice husk grains that stay intact while you gently work through the scalp, then rinse away with warm water. Unlike sugar or salt grains that dissolve quickly, they allow time to reach the areas that need attention. Work carefully around extension attachments and rinse well. Avoid exfoliating an irritated or inflamed scalp.

2. Cleanse With A Gentle Shampoo

Follow with Iles Formula Shampoo, massaging gently at the roots and rinsing thoroughly. It is designed for all hair types, and we often hear from customers who value its gentle feel on sensitive scalps. Customers with eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis may choose it for their regular cleansing routine, but shampoo does not replace medical care for those conditions. Seek professional guidance for persistent symptoms or a baby’s scalp.

3. Treat The Scalp and Hair Together

After shampooing, apply Iles Formula Hair Mask to the scalp and hair lengths. Tucuma seed butter and Pracaxi oil from the Amazon Forest help make this a nourishing treatment without sacrificing the light feel of the hair. For an extra rich ritual, add a few drops of Vitamin Treatment Oil, our botanical treatment built around vitamins A, B, C, D and E. Rinse the mask . Leave for about 15 mins, rinse, and follow with Iles Formula Conditioner. Always wet brush through and rinse.

4. Finish With A Leave-In Scalp Ritual

Apply Scalp + Hair Rejuvenating Booster to the scalp and massage it in. It is known for its award winning hair growth positioning, but I also use it once a week simply as a moment of anti age scalp care. I want to keep my hair long for years to come, so looking after the scalp is a habit I value.

5. Spend The Time For A Beautiful Blow Out

Finish your spa ritual by taking the time to do a lovely blowout if thats your thing, or allow if hair has natural movement to dry naturally or gently diffuse. Before either, always add heat protection. Iles Formula has heat protection in both the Finishing Serum and Curl Revive.

A head spa can be a beautiful experience. The lasting benefit is remembering your scalp between salon visits: cleanse it, treat it gently and give it consistent attention.
